Adjectives and a variety of sentences
What makes a good writer is being descriptive and starting your sentences in a variety of ways.
Adjectives are descriptive words that describe nouns. Try and come up with a list of ten adjectives and put them into a short story. The story does not have to be too long. It can be anywhere from half a page to a full page on a computer or written.
Here is an example of a start of a short story.
Adjectives I want to use: Scary, green, spooky, hairy, mysterious, tall, ferocious, creaked, beautiful, sparkly, deep.
The Spooky Forest Walk
I slowly creaked open the door at school and I could not believe my eyes! I heard some spooky noises coming from our classroom. Now, I could just run back home or I could be super brave and see what was happening. I slowly pushed the tall door open again and I saw a hairy mysterious figure out of the corner of my eye! It jumped right out the window into the deep forest below. I knew that I would have to be brave and face my fears. So I decided that I would have to follow this weird shadowy figure. I jumped down and took out my green flashlight…
