Math:  Week 5 May 4-8

Probability and Data Management:

1. Log intoLog into I Know It Math https://www.iknowit.com found here.  The class code is ilio and the username is your first name and your last name initial. Your password is potter.  Log into your account and complete the 15 questions on reading a graph.

In the previous two sections, you have investigated situations where ...

2.  You are going to create spinners!  All you need is a ruler, paper, colouring materials, pencil and a paper clip.

Create two different spinners with different colours.  You can make one out of eighths and fours for example.  This example is divided into tenths.  You can colour them in any colour.  Then you can play with a partner or yourself and choose specific colours.

The first one to ten wins! Once it is all coloured you can put the paper clip in the middle with your pencil inside.  And flick it until it moves around.

3.  You can use whatever colours and papers you have around your house to make this bar graph using this data.

There are 21 people in the class.
10- liked Vanilla ice cream
5- liked strawberry ice cream
3- chocolate ice cream
2- Rhubarb ice cream
1- cricket ice cream ( It was Caleb)

Your bar graph needs these things:  Ruler, Colour, numbers on the left, ice cream flavours on the bottom, label for the Y axis Number of students in the class, X axis label for favourite ice cream choices and a title for your graph.  It should look something like this.
